Our Love Story
2017
It all began in the warmth of a summer that we will never forget. We were both just two high school students on the volleyball field. Dicko was a professional player at that time and we both played together after school. Fate had its own way of keeping us in contact during that season and from our very first conversations, something felt easy, natural as if we had known each other longer than we actually had.
We talked often, growing closer with each passing day. Somewhere between laughter and late conversations, we made a simple plan to have dinner together at Sate Padang Gor Sidoarjo; a place that was quite famous back then. It was the beginning of something more. But sometimes life had other unexpected plans, I became super busy preparing for my undergraduate school and that dinner never happened. Unfortunately our conversations faded and we haven’t talked since then.
2025
Almost ten years later, destiny found its way back to us in the most unexpected moment. Dicko was spending his weekend with his friends at the Welcome Monument or so-called Bundaran HI then a Sate Padang seller approached him. In that moment, a memory stirred; faint but persistent. It reminded him of a plan he once made with someone, a dinner that never happened and someone he could not quite forget nor recall.
Without any hesitations, he searched through memories and everything he could recall; until finally, he found me again. He reached out, and we began to reconnect; picking up the threads of a story that had once been left unfinished.
Through every conversation, every moment of getting to know each other again, our connection grew stronger. The journey of PDKT unfolded beautifully, and by the end of 2025, Dicko proposed me and with a full heart, I said yes.
2026
Our love continued to grow, even across the distance between us; me in Surabaya, and Dicko in Jakarta. Though separated by miles, we both happy in the same sky and circumstances. Every late-night video call became a place we could call home, and every weekend spent together felt like a precious gift.
In January, we took another step forward and celebrated our engagement—a moment that marked the true beginning of our forever. It was a promise, not only to each other, but to the life we are building together. Today, with hearts full of gratitude and joy, we are ready to begin a new chapter. We are beyond happy to share this precious moment with our beloved family and friends.
Alhamdulillah, by the grace and blessing of Allah, we are preparing to enter into the sacred bond of marriage—beginning our journey together in love, faith, and devotion.
